Starting is hard. Its like there is this huge barrier you have to overcome, and it feels like an impossible task. There is only one way around that problem and thats to just DO IT *flex*
So here it is , the first post on this blog. I have been debating with myself ( Am I crazy for doing that ?), whether to start a blog for quite some time now. But the first step is always the hardest, and therefore I have been procrastinating this for as long as i have considered it.
Anyway, what will this blog be about ?
The Blog Title describes it pretty well.
I am a Software Engineering Student, I play Videogames way too much and Unicorns are just amazing.
You can expect me to rant about the lastest developments in my Software Projects. Im currently working on a Medical Search Engine thingamabob with four students from my university.
While they deal with the backend, which involves text mining using a in memory database (guess which one), I'm the lonely frontend developer. Traversing the endless planes of javascript frameworks that want to do everything better than the other, while beeing completely clueless about web development, I try to design an interface that is intuitive, fast and feature-rich all at the same time.
I'm dealing with mundane problems like aligning a div inside other divs, so its perfectly centered, as well as working with and around Polymer and WebComponents.
Up until recently I also dealt with cross-browser compatiblity, however I recently gave up on that and just stick to Chrome for now.
I will also document and write parts of my bachelor thesis on here, as it helps me to structure and keep my thoughts somewhere.
When I am not coding, I will be either reading books and fanfiction or be playing videogames.
In the last week I played 'The Division' a lot, along with a buddy of mine.
It has been a fun experience so far, I spent about 40 to 50 hours in the game.
The Story is very cool, and so is the general setting of the game.
The endgame content is lacking however, which is why I probably wont continue playing the game. I might pick it back up at some point if it gets updated.
I should get back to work now though, so have a great day !
Don't forget to smile ! :)
